Olmsted Point

We are the Wrights. Nolan, Konika, Benjamin, and Sydney. We are from Ooltewah, Tennessee and will soon be moving to Curahuasi, Peru to serve at Hospital Diospi Suyana.  Nolan will be working at the hospital as their only physical therapist.

The hospital sits at about 9000 feet and provides medical care to the Quechua people (the decedents of the Incas).  For generations, they have been very resistant to Christianity, partially due to the oppression they received from their “Christian” conquerors from Spain.  Providing physical healing opens the door to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the main objective for us and for the hospital.

Yes… we will be a missionary family.  And even though the word ‘missionary’ comes with many assumptions and stereotypes, we will still be us.  We will still wear normal clothes, still like camping, canoeing, traveling, hanging out with friends. We are just being ourselves, praying that God will infuse us with His love so our actions, words, and interactions with others will bring glory to His name.  We know that this is only possible through Him.

Our decision to go to Peru seems to have come out of the blue and at a very rapid pace. However, looking back over the last 8 or 9 months, God has been lining it up for us without us even knowing. It is amazing how He works!
